Infographics...
Hi! Welcome to another post
This post is about INFOGRAPHICS, educational infographics in particular.
What's that? Well, I will explain it to you.
Educational infographics are designed creatively in order to represent some knowledge with attractive visuals for the students. They are a good idea to explain concepts or contents in a more understandable way because these infographics include a series of graphics, short texts, images or even URL links that are attractive and much easier to remain better in the students' minds.
You have to take into consideration some points before starting to create your infographic:
1. Focus on the main message you want to transmit to your students.
2. Try to use as a cleaner and direct images as possible which still maintain the attention of your students.
3. Organize clearly the text.
4. Each source you include you need to cite and attribute it!
There are a lot of useful online tools to create infographics... such as Easel.ly, Piktochart, Canva, Padlet, Mural.ly... and so on. Just have a look and let me know if you are keen on creating super educational infographics for your lessons!
I will post below my personal infographic. It is about... I have decided to continue with the same topic I started with the previous post, that is, plants!!! I included a mindmap about a Farming Project in class on my last post, and in the first part of that mindmap, I remind the students of all the different types of plants that exist. So, I have decided to create an infographic that adds more information about this topic itself, combining it with photos and videos about different types of plants.
The online tool used to design the infographic was Canva. I am fascinated with how easy is to drive on this website, I had no problems at all with creating the infographic. Aside, one of the best things about this website is the multitude of templates, images and different font types available in the free version. There are tons of options to design and create your infographic with all the details, even with animated pages and links to watch amazing videos!
I attach my creation below, by the way!
This poster will serve the students to have a clear organization on their minds about the contents they are going to learn with me, sounds great, right?
