Hey! what's up! Do you remember the story from my last post? If you did not have time to read it, please, click on this link . The title of the video is: "Recognizing Women's work" , and with this video, we want to recreate the story we created in the last post, in which we offer the students an engaging tool to read the information we want to transmit to them.  The advantage of using these types of videos in class is that students will be able to watch them as many times as they want . They will be able to continually draw on the information that appears in the video. If you want to read all the important information we added to the video, have a look at the following Google Doc:   All the online tools we used for creating the whole video and its elements, music... and so on are the following:  - Powtoon online app for creating animated videos. - Free Music Archive in order to add some free music to our video. - The Online Video Editor for combining all the ele...

Storyboard a video project...

Image
Hello!!!  Did you miss me?  My mates and I decided to create a video about the recognition of women's work  to dedicate some time in class to talk about this topic.  How can we use these videos for educational purposes ? It's very easy because with these tools you can engage students in the topic you want. Your students can feel more attracted to the lesson if you introduce the topic with an original video! Also, one important thing about this is that students will be able to watch the video at all times they need, so that, the information will be always available. The story is the following:  First, we decided to create a Storyboard of our video. Why? Because with this website you can create a plain comic so that we have to create a general idea and do not focus on too many details firstly. Apart from that, our students can have an initial idea about what your video is going to be afterward. In each slide, the students will read a brief resume of how...

Podcasting...

Image
Hello! Welcome to another post This post is going to be dedicated to podcasts ! Yayyyy!  Podcasting has been becoming hardly trending these recent years, and some teachers have started using it in class! But... how can you take advantage of this tool during classes?  There are a lot of advantages of using educational podcasts . First and foremost, it can reinforce the students' oral comprehension, you keep the students' attention on what they are listening to and stimulate the imagination . Apart from that, you can collect all these podcasts in a playlist and you can listen to them all the times you want! This means that everybody can listen to the contents you explain, some important information about the course... and so on. You won't have any excuse that you have forgotten to turn in your homework! With podcasting, you will become a storyteller , and the wonderful fact is that you can also add some original intonation and some action to your podcasts. There are such ...

Heyyy! Sometimes we have to explain something to our students which is a little bit boring for them, so it would be a good practice if we use better websites to create  supportive educational slideshows for them. There are incredibly websites you can use for creating online presentations are: - Prezi - Powtoon -  Biteslide You can use even Google Slides! The most commonly used and (for me) one of the most useful online tools for creating ingenious presentations is Genial.ly. I have recently talked about this wonderful website on one of my blog posts. If you want to read more advantages about it, just click HERE . Personally, this is the third or fourth time I use this website to make presentations, and I need to say that the more...

Infographics...

Image
Hi! Welcome to another post This post is about INFOGRAPHICS , educational infographics in particular.  What's that? Well, I will explain it to you.  Educational infographics are designed creatively in order to represent some knowledge with attractive visuals  for the students. They are a good idea to explain concepts or contents in a more understandable way because these infographics include a series of  graphics, short texts, images or even URL links  that are attractive and much easier to remain better in the students' minds.  You have to take into consideration some points before starting to create your infographic: 1. Focus on the main message you want to transmit to your students. 2. Try to use as a cleaner and direct images as possible which still maintain the attention of your students. 3.  Organize clearly the  text. 4. Each source you include you need to cite and attribute it!  There are a lot of useful online ...

Sharing stories through comics...

Image
Hello! Welcome to another post   Today I am going to show you a creative tool for using in learning class. With this tool, you will become an expert in storytelling because I am going to explain to you how to create  comics . Comics are a great visual representation of knowledge and they can be useful for multiple purposes. Depending on the specific purpose you have plenty of possibilities to create. Some of the most popular websites to create comics are: - Prixton - Creaza -  StoryboardThat At first, it can be very exhausting because you have to start by choose among billion possibilities of backgrounds, characters, actions, and emotions, but don't worry, this is the toughest step. Take your necessary time to do it  (I spent more than two hours only looking and selecting specific things!)  After that, you can start creating your comic!  The funny thing is that the students will participate more and they increase their thinking, creating and writing ...

Content curation...

Image
Hey! What's up! Welcome to another post.  Have you ever heard about the word  INFOXICATION ?  Yes, we as teachers have to create a wide range of content elements , and we always want to be as more creative as possible, so we spend hours and hours looking for information on the Internet until our brain says stop and gets veeeery exhausted. For this reason, we have to treat content, that is, content curation .  I am going to use Symbaloo  website because I consider it keeps all the information you have organized in a clear layout. It is very interesting because it looks like the desktop you have on your computer! The amazing thing about this website is that you can collect all the most important information you consider as a teacher, and you can create some folders in which you can access this information and check it when you need it without spending hours looking on the Internet!  Sounds wonderful right?   I am going to attach my personal Sy...
